Small cell systems are being installed along US Highways 6 and 36 to help bring internet access to areas in Colorado where there currently is none. This will also help build out FirstNet, a system meant to provide uninterrupted wireless coverage for emergency services. While this system is years away, Colorado residents can ask their "county and municipal governments to collaborate with CDOT and their partner Crown Castle to advance the completion of the FirstNet system through the use of small cell networks."
