Why Tallahassee needs more wireless infrastructure.
Tallahassee, Florida is more than just a state capital. It’s a bustling town that’s home to several colleges and universities, including Florida State, Florida A&M University and Tallahassee Community College¹, and it’s emerging as a growing technological and innovative hub in the Southeastern US. Tallahassee is one of the fastest-growing cities in Florida, which means wireless connectivity is even more essential for local businesses and residents.
Tallahassee’s wireless infrastructure must expand with its thriving city. Wireless connectivity is particularly important for public safety, with 80 percent of emergency calls in many areas are being placed from a mobile phone. Small cell solutions are used to complement existing wireless infrastructure and can help provide a more reliable network, expanding coverage and capacity across the entire Tallahassee region.

Where we're installing small cells.
Small cells are installed in the right of way, often on infrastructure like street signs, utility poles and streetlights. You may have walked by them before without noticing them. Working in partnership with city staff, we plan to enable improved wireless provider service while keeping Tallahassee's character intact.
