What’s Needed to Deliver the Nationwide Quantum Internet Blueprint
The Department of Energy is leading the nation’s plans for quantum internet following the U.S. Quantum Initiative passed in 2019. Crown Castle infrastructure has been utilized on Long Island (NY) as a test case to establish a quantum network. This established quantum network includes “approximately 120-km fiber length connecting Brookhaven Lab, SBU, and Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) at SBU campus locations.”
